Now, let’s get to it! It’s time to talk about some of the hottest stories of the week, followed by a few explanations in Portuguese!

We’re starting this episode talking about England and their very eventful week. If you were there this last weekend you would have seen queen Elizabeth’s face everywhere, even more than usual, because the four-day event called Platinum Jubilee took over the country. In other words, an event in celebration of the queen’s 70th anniversary as a monarch.

Many things happened during the event, and Prince Louis was one of the stars. At just four years of age, the son of Kate Middleton and Prince William was having the time of his life, laughing with his cousins and dancing around, as he should. But what caught the attention of the crowd was the moment he stuck his tongue out to his mom, and held her mouth shut.

There were mixed reactions to his behavior, but even Super Nanny herself agreed that Kate dealt with the situation in the best way possible, and the consensus was that… well… kids will be kids, whether or not they are part of the royal family.

Other topics were floating around during the event, including the increasingly frail appearance of the Queen, who, at 96 years of age made only a few quick appearances, and was present for no more than 30 minutes throughout the four days, making the people wonder if Prince Charles might be taking over the throne sooner rather than later.

Of course, no one is ready for the psychological shock that her passing away would bring to the country, but since 2013 Prince Charles has already been representing the crown at government meetings and other events, already posing as the monarch in every way except the title.

And as if that was not enough, it has also been confirmed that some areas of the United Kingdom will start testing out the four-day work week during the second semester of 2022! Imagine that… Thursdays will be their new Fridays, and all salaries will remain the same. I wouldn’t mind that at all…

Então você pode ouvir frases como “we need to fix the car sooner rather than later”, com o sentido de “precisamos arrumar o carro logo”.

The Hollywood star has been busy promoting his new film, “Hustle”, which will soon be out on Netflix, making appearances on several shows, so it was a surprise and a great mystery when he showed up on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon with a very noticeable black eye.

“This is something I have to discuss, right?” He said pointing to the injury on his face. He then proceeded to tell his story, he told Jimmy Fallon “I was in bed, in the middle of the night and, you know how they tuck in your sheets at the bottom? Somebody tucked in the sheets too much and I had my phone in the middle of the bed.” He continued, “I kicked my feet up to untuck it, the phone went flying, hit me in the head.”

Even though he felt blood on his face and he knew something was wrong, he was too tired and sleepy to deal with it, and he just fell asleep, only seeing the wound the next morning.

Adam mentioned that he thinks it looks cool but is quite embarrassed to tell the real story, which isn’t cool at all.

“Tuck” encaixar, “untuck” desencaixar.

And to end on a more exciting note, let’s talk about one of the latest releases from Netflix! If you are a Tim Burton fan, you may have heard of his latest project: an Addams Family spin-off about one of the most beloved characters in the series: Wednesday Addams. And the trailer has just dropped!

The series will follow Wednesday as she goes to college, but of course, we will also enjoy the presence of the other iconic characters such as Morticia and Thing. Danny Elfman, one of the writers, said in an interview “It’s really fun, the young actress who’s playing Wednesday Adams is really perfect, perfectly cast. She’s just Wednesday through and through and it’s a lot of fun.”

Jenna Ortega is the young actress in question who has been praised by viewers ever since the trailer came out, and is said to give off the perfect vibe for the role.

And it’s with that story that we will end today’s episode, folks. But don’t worry, we’ll be back next week!
